A dream debut for Saker Sportscars!
Last weekend, the Saker RapX Cup in standard version has proven himself in the 24-hour endurance race in Barcelona. On Saturday 67 cars in various classes started at the Circuit de Catalunya.
The goal of Saker Sports was to finish the 24 hour race debut, but they did more than that. Sunday the Saker RapX came over the finish line in victory in the SP3 class! Of course: A dream debut!
The race was started by Bob Herber in wet conditions and with a slowly drying track Saker Sportscars dared to be the first team who switched to slicks! This was a good decision, Saker drove top ten for a while and even fifth overall.
The hours that followed the Saker drivers were very consistent to continue driving, and the drivers and the crew managed to keep the Saker without much trouble on track.
The final victory in the class and the ease that the Saker has made its rounds both the drivers and Saker Sportscars decided to certainly race more 24-hour races. The lessons learned during the debut can then ensure that the Saker is not only competing in his own class, but also in the overall ranking to make a chance.
The 24-hour RapX Saker has little time to cool down, this weekend, the Dutch Supercar Challenge at Spa is on the calendar, the following week the Saker Sports Challenge Spa Francorchamps and as the climax of the season the Saker World Final, October the 30th in Zandvoort.
